Laurie Schmeizer
CPPS-Certified Professional Pet Sitter®
Owner & Founder
Laurie was born and raised in Central Suffolk on Long Island.
A long-time dog mom herself, Laurie’s profound connection with her own dogs led her to explore professional pet care as a career over ten years ago. She founded Dog Days Pet Care to provide peace of mind for pet parents and personalized, loving attention for their beloved companions.
As a Certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International, Laurie has attained one of the highest levels of knowledge available in the pet sitting industry. To become a Certified Professional Pet Sitter, Laurie had to successfully complete the industry’s only knowledge-assessed certification exam for professional pet sitters. By doing so, Laurie joined the ranks of the industry’s top care professionals, uplifting standards of excellence in the pet sitting industry and committing to continuing education throughout her career.
Today, Laurie oversees Dog Days Pet Care’s daily operations while implementing and upholding our care standards and protocols. Among other things, Laurie welcomes new clients, recruits, trains, and manages our team of pet care providers, and provides pet care as a backup dog walker or pet sitter when needed.
When she’s not working, Laurie enjoys traveling, catching the latest movies, exploring new destinations, and trying local restaurants. You may spot her, her husband Cliff, and their dog Quincy out and about in Sayville, NY. Quincy is a social butterfly who believes every storefront was built specifically for him to investigate and is always excited to see what new adventures await behind the next door.
Cliff Schmeizer
Administration Manager
Born and raised on Long Island, Cliff has been at Laurie’s side from day one. As a husband and wife duo, Laurie and Cliff work together to ensure Dog Day’s Pet Care remains the area’s most trusted pet care company.
Cliff manages Dog Days Pet Care’s administrative tasks, including scheduling and client relations. He also supports the team by providing backup dog walking and pet sitting as needed.
When he’s not working, Cliff enjoys downtime with Laurie and their dog, Quincy. As a Yankees fan, he loves watching his team play (and win!) and also enjoys listening to music and watching movies.
Anjelica
Operations Manager
As Dog Days Pet Care’s Operations Manager, Anjelica designs operational systems to ensure a fun yet safe environment for our employees and the pets in our care. She handles pet care scheduling, plans staff meetings, and creates content for our online marketing efforts. Anjelica also works in the field as needed, providing dog walks, pet sitting visits, poop and scoops, pet taxis, and more.
When she’s not working, Anjelica loves spending time with her friends, family, and animals. She also enjoys bowling, playing pool, and doing arts and crafts.
